Can you find the Lamborghini Car on this road Jn ?

Policemen policing Pedestrians

On 29 Dec 2010, Wed morning about 8am, 4 dark-uniformed Policemen were standing few metres apart on the traffic junction next to the Ang Mo Kio MRT Station. Pedestrians were stopped and booked for jaywalking, when they crossed the traffic junction while the traffic-man was still red and about to turned green. Three pedestrians were booked and IDs copied. One pedestrain was in her 20s and was clueless and a bit frightened by the policemen. On the next day, the policemen were not at the traffic junction anymore.

Most likely there were complains from the motorists that this traffic junction was bazaar and prone to accidents, or there was an accident a few days ago, or the police were under orders to warn the jaywalkers.

Why Stare at me ? Part 2

In view of recent parang attack III at AMK, it seems quite unsafe to be in lone place at night. Or rather, i feel more secure and safe if i can carry a knife or parang in my bag with me when out in the streets.

However, since it is a criminal offense to carry a weapon around, i suggest how wonderful it would be to use a shield, and i'd feel safer.

With a shield, if someone hacks me with a parang, i can : dart, dodge, backstep, slant left, cover-front, cover-back, and still not-injured and alive. You can't hurt me still :) (Below)

Marina Sands 2010

2010 is the year Marina Sands of Singapore 2nd Casino opened.

Many say the Esplanade Concert hall looks like a Durian. Tourists, and foreigners come to Singapore might like to have a see. Durians. And try.

Another fruit may be in hunt for comparing with another iconic building near Marina Sands.

The Sydney opera house is a charmful and peaceful place.

The architecture stands up firm, with structures designed
with inspirations drawn from the peeled skins of
oranges.

Cut open a
Pomelo, and the inspiration unfolds a new architecture design.

The design of architecture could not exclude the strength of gravity, and the structures needed
to support the mass of concretes. Adding a touch of beauty, asymmetry is an idea to consider.

Architectures in Singapore and elsewhere, modern or ancient, may have a bit of similarity and also differences that made them iconic.

And Stone Henge, UK is ancient, Marina Sands is modern.

Welcome to Singapore ! It's 2010, Marina Sands.

(Photo2) M225 - Flag raising on Mt. Suibachi, Iwo Jima, 23 Feb, 1945.

The Battle of Iwo Jima took place between the United States and the Japanese Empire in February and March 1945 during the Pacific Campaign of World War II. The U.S. invasion, known as Operation Detachment, was charged with the mission of capturing the airfields on Iwo Jima.

Joe Rosenthal photographed five Marines: Ira Hayes, Mike Strank, Franklin Sousley, Rene Gagnon, Harlon Block, and a U.S. Navy corpsman, John Bradley, raising the U.S. flag atop the 166 meter (546 ft) Mount Suribachi. The photograph records what was actually the second flag-raising on the mountain, which took place on the fifth day of the 35-day battle.

Why Stare at me ? Nov 2010

Back in 2009, I was walking straight in the corridor, with a cup of coffee. A pair of young couples in 20s was turning out from escalator, and the boyfriend was paying lots of attention to his girlfriend.

Next, Minor Collision happened, the guy hit my coffee-cup, and few drops spilled onto floor and luckily my shirt is not stained.

I was silly to drink coffee while walking in a shopping mall. Somehow unaware myself, my eyes was looking at the floor with drops of coffee and also glancing pass the guy, and if there was a smile or gesture, I would have smiled back too.

Maybe my look seemed unhappy, next thing is the staring incident.

The young guy ran slowly from behind to my side while i had walked pass him.

He then rebuked me like threatening me:
Q: "Why you stare at me ?"
(Before i can chat with him about just now...he asked again)
Q: "Why, i cannot afford to pay you back coffee is it ?"
(Again, before i can communicate with him...)
Q: "You .blah blah blah blah.."
(No choice, i decided just to say...) I: "I apologise..."
Q: "You .blah blah blah blah.."
(Better to apologize again, and think of strategy later) I: "I like to apologize..."
Q: "You .blah blah blah blah.."

Then proudly he ran away and back to his girlfriend

I was then more shocked than earlier :)

No grudge about the past, but just my comments for above incident:

* Sometimes a stare was incidental or unaware of self, and it is an ice-break away from a smile or hi gesture.

* Next time, i may just block my eyes with my hand and say "Sorry", or if provoked, I may ask "Are you looking for trouble ?"

* The staring incident is a win-lose situation. "Why stare at me ?", it can be followed by a series of questions:
Example:
"I stepped on your shoe. Why stare at me ?", then "You think i cannot afford to pay your shoes ?". then "*@&* #*@&", then "@8*@ ...@*..."

The staring incident was in 2009, and it reflects Young school dropouts are stressed.

If one is with no first-time experience, and first-timer, beware. I used to think staring incidents happen only at clark quay, boat quay or mohd sultan. but it happened nearer to me than i expect, caught up next to me.

(The above article just for your reading pleasure)

Other starring incidents happening since 2009 till now:
2010-Nov, Downtown East
2010-Nov, Bt Panjang Jelapang and Fajar
